The geospatial killer app

Finding a nearby Restaurant. It can be a bit hit and miss.

I have just been playing with [klick](http://klickmap.com/), my favourite iPhone flickr app. It does everything you want with flickr and it does it nicely.
Flicking through the photos near me in my house, and I came across this photo of the menu from my local pub.

Menu for my local pub from flickr

This is bloody marvellous. All Klick needs to do now is be able to filter by tag near me, and suddenly we can start building a huge database of geotagged menus.
Fancy a bite? Whip out your iPhone, and flick through all the menus nearby, then view your favourite one on a map.
Go to one that isn't done yet? Whip out your phone, take photos of the menu and tag them with "menu" before you upload them using Klick.

I've struggled with the excitement around geospatial services, as mostly it's startups with grand ideas and clumsy implementations. But this has got me really excited about it, as this is just simple, user generated and already useful.

Of course, this can continue. Not only find the nearest cash machine or toilet, but one that doesn't look horrendous. Of course, flooding your flickr stream with photos of toilets may not go down too well.
